WHAT DOES TAH.MAH.LAH. MEAN?
From the beginning, we wanted to give our house a meaningful name, because this project is not about us.
After doing extensive research and fact checking for accuracy's sake, we settled on the name Tah.Mah.Lah.
It is the Ohlone (Costanoan) people's word for mountain lion or puma. We chose this name both out of respect for the Ohlone people who once roamed our lands and in honor of the creatures with whom we still share Portola Valley’s ecosystem.
